We arrived at the island in the late afternoon and were greeted by blue skies! (Side note: the north of France is usually rainy, if not overcast, especially in the fall so we were feeling really fortunate to have had a two sunny days in a row.)

We ascended the narrow alleyways of the small town, admiring all the cute shops and the Bretagne specialities, toward the abbey at the summit of the little island. I was absolutely blown away, I don't know if I have ever had a better view.

It truly felt like paradise.
We ended the night with dinner at Saint-Malo, another coastal town nearby. It was quite the party. The entire town was preparing for the Route du Rhum, a transatlantic single-handed yacht race, which takes places every 4 years in November. The course begins in Saint-Malo and ends at Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe so we were able to see the hundreds of boats docked at the pier before their Sunday departure!
